Spinoza Kennedy Vesey PR won gold for best Corporate
and Financial PR campaign at the CIPR President’s
Grand Prix in London last Thursday evening.
The President’s Grand Prix sees
all of the gold award winners from each of the regional
and national CIPR PRide Awards events from the 2006/7
season compete head to head in 17 categories on a national
platform.
SKV PR was the only north west PR agency to win a
CIPR President’s Award - and had more short-listed
nominations on the night (with three in total) than
any other consultancy from the region.
The winning campaign, Manchester Takes Manhattan,
was on behalf of Manchester’s inward investment
agency MIDAS. It focussed on SKV PR’s work to
raise the profile of Manchester among US corporate
site selectors and also increase the awareness of Manchester
as the UK’s second business city at home and
abroad.
A key element of the campaign was to promote a financial
and professional sector Manchester delegation visit
to New York, generating extensive media coverage on
both sides of the Atlantic.
The CIPR judges said the winning campaign was “In-depth…with
an international flavour enabling it to reach an impressive
list of corporate and financial press.”
SKV’s founder and Managing Director Andrew Spinoza,
who collected the award in person at a glittering awards
ceremony held at Sheraton Skyline Hotel, Heathrow,
said: “We had a fantastic night at the north
west CIPR awards last year, winning more gold awards
than anyone else.
“To then have three of those entries go forward
to the President’s Grand Prix and beat off stiff
competition from across the UK to claim a gold is a
real bonus.
“Winning in the Corporate and Financial category
is particularly pleasing as we have worked very hard
over the last few years to build a specialisation in
this area” he added.
